I won a CAMERA, (Not a paid advertisement, just in love)

I went to a Dancing With the Stars taping, and won a camera. Here is how it went down. We asked a guy who had been trolling the line talking to people to take our picture. He said, "Why don't you give me your camera, and I will give you this!" I said, "NO!" Thinking he was going to run off with my phone. Mechelle, (with the black shirt on) said, "OKAY" rather excitedly... She took the pic with his camera, and then he proceeded to tell her he was going to GIVE IT TO HER!

Here is me, green with envy. I just turned down a new camera.

We all stood there while she filled out paper work, they took her picture, took a video blah, blah, blah. We were all jealous.

She asked a few times if her friend could have a new camera too, and they just kind of laughed and smiled, (She wasn't even talking about me!) Then, right before they were going to walk away, they all turned back to us, and said they would give us ALL a FREE CAMERA! I love Hollywood... It is called the PEN READY project, and I was happy to oblige..

I took my new camera to the beach on Friday, and fell in love.
With crystal clear shots,
Fun settings... I think this one is called "Dramatic"

This is a regular shot of Kaylie sitting in our beach chairs,
This is a setting called "pop-art" It really brings out the colors, huh?
This is called "Grainy" I love the pieces of sand in her teeth.
Regular Shots

I love that I don't even need photoshop because it is all in my camera that way, and I love rapid fire so that I can capture everyone looking, because we all know there is only one second to capture that! I am loving it! And can't wait to take more pictures!

My Uniform

I have a uniform.

I wear a v-neck t-shirt,

and a pair of sweatpants.

I tried to take a picture for you,

but it wasn't flattering. (Hard to imagine WHY, huh?)

So, I didn't post it.

The outfit is NOT meant to impress.

But, I wear it almost every day.

Many people have seen my in my "uniform".

The ladies I car pool with,

my visiting teachers,

any repair man.

I really don't care.

I mean, I REALLY don't care.

I am comfortable.

And almost no one can sees me in it.

Except for the people I mentioned before.

Sometimes I don't shower. . .

until 3 in the afternoon,

when I have to go somewhere.

I read Cjane.

She wears Mumus.

She is proud of her Mu-mus.

In her vlog today, she and her sister are wearing mu-mus.

They look comfy.

But I am not sure I can pull it off.

She said they get them at Dillards.

I searched for "mu-mus" on Dillards website.

Guess what,

They aren't called mu-mus anymore. They are called Patio Dresses.

I think I like that term more.

So much more, I think I want a patio dress.

Do you want to see me in a patio dress?

Or in my uniform?

Let me know.

Here are some patio dress options.

I think I am in love.

I think I would have to go with a longer mu-mu because I am so tall. I think the short one would be a disaster.

Which mu-mu do you like?

If I get enough comments on this post, I will buy the preferred mu-mu and post a picture of me in it on my blog.

I will decide what is enough comments.

As a side note, I feel sorry for the patio dress model. I am sure when she got to work that day she thought, "and what about me says, patio dress exactly?". . .

GIFT GIVING

Honestly. Does Holiday shopping stress you out? I try to not let it, but let's face it. It does. The lists are long, the lines are long, money is tight and people should be happy, but most of them are GRUMPY.

Most of the people on my list are getting Pampered Chef. (CAN YOU BLAME ME?) And, in order to save your sanity, I have decided to share some of Pampered Chef's greatest gift ideas. Honestly, there isn't a person I know, cook or non-cook, who wouldn't love a scoop, or a spatula stuffed in their stocking or tied to the top of their box.

I also have a little GIFT for you. For you local peeps. If you are willing to come and pick it up at my house, I am offering FREE SHIPPING. Yup. You heard me. FREE. Because I love ya. And because if you have read this far, I REALLY love ya. If you want some items for yourself, be sure to send me your wishlist, and send your husband my phone number. He will get free shipping too. (Ps- if you don't live by me, you can host your own catalog show and get free shipping to your house! Kara Kelly just got $90 of FREE PRODUCTS for her own catalog show. How is THAT for a Merry Christmas, and cheap shopping? However, I think it was all a present for herself. :) Oh, I guess you can do a catalog show if you DO live by me too. I'm easy like that.

Does anyone else hate shopping for the men in your life? Seriously. Mine are tough, and they have everything already. But guys love grill tools, and ours are awesome. The grill tools aren't even pictured here! But HERE is a link, you're welcome.

Are these classic batter bowls the cutest gift ever? I am sure you sister would LOVE to get these cute bowls, stuffed with a few goodies. I just love the presentation.
I have to admit, these new Bamboo Bowls are seriously beautiful. A total piece of art. I am sure you momma would be grateful to throw that old wooden one in the TRASH!
In my family, Pie is BIG.
Who would have thought an oven mitt could double at as a stocking!
In my family, Pizza night is a Friday night tradition. Maybe it should be in your family too.
Quick and cheap? A scoop. Love 'em. Once you have ONE, you will want them ALL. Need a teacher gift? Give her a scoop with your favorite cookie recipe attached. Perfect.

Beautiful and festive? The Tiered Serving Tray. In the Holiday Catalog, they have it topped with greens on a table. Great idea. I think I will be adopting it.
And these stainless steel bowls will seriously be going to someone in my family, because they really really want them. Your wish is my command.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Covet No More

Last year, I was coveting these. Oh my gosh. That was TWO years ago. My how time flies when you are living on the very edge and teetering back and forth in the wind.

Anywho.

I was coveting.

But the other day, I went to THE RACK.

I have a size 12 shoe.

If I find a shoe in a size 12, I buy it.

Ok, not all the time.

There are some homely looking size 12 shoes. I don't buy those.

But life is hard enough than to have to go barefoot too.

Right?

So, if I like it, I buy it.

So, the other day I bought these.

I love them.

Do you know how much fun it is to take pictures of your feet while you are walking? My neighbors think I am weird.

Know what else is super cute in awesome sandals? Baby feet.

Too Cute.

I have to make sure my see it and buy it philosophy doesn't end up drowning my girls in shoe options.

Maybe I don't have to worry. When I asked Abby if she liked my sandals, she said, "I think they are kinda weird lookin'"

Oh well, can't win them all.

No Babies Were Actually Harmed for this Blog Post

And although mighty-minis might not be considered "babyfood" the sure help out in the teething department. . . K is trying to debut some new bottom teeth, and she devoured a couple of mighty minis in an effort to "chill" them out. . .

However, post mighty mini-she looked somewhat like an accident victim. .

But, I promise, it was under very close supervision. . . Right on top of my counter... >
Don't worry. I balanced out all that sugar with some real fruit later :)

However, someone else had a hankering for mighty mini's at about 4:00 a.m. He came into my room anyway. I didn't realize his hankering until I was shooing him back down the stairs. . There was one on the steps about 3 steps down that he ever so politely picked up and gave to me. . .

Oh, and then a butter knife? One more item to pick up on our route to bed. . ANOTHER mighty mini. . (I guess he was REALLY hungry) Of course, when we got to his bedroom door, it was locked. (A butter knife is the prefered method of opening doors around here... Now it is all making sense?) I opened the door and got him back into bed. . . Who knows what else he did while he was galavanting around the house last night... But it wasn't my usual sneaker. I have a new one.
Maybe the smurfs made him do it. . . Wish him luck tomorrow... He is going to be seeing smurfs in his sleep at the surgery center! ;)

My lil' sis bought this handbag not too long ago. I always thought it was so cute. It made her look hip... cool... I so want to be her.... AND NOW I CAN!
She bought it for ALMOST full price here: But you can get it FOR JUST $19.99 + 25% off! Be cute... I dare you.

I got this purse because I am not as cool as her and could NEVER pull off a bag like that. But I did get this bag for $14.99 (Originally $79.00)

AND this bag. . .

I got in in GREEN. But I SERIOUSLY CONTEMPLATED ORANGE. (Did I make a mistake?) It was only $11.24. So, I guess it is ok if I did. :0
GET ONE! (I don't care if we match... I am just not that vain.)

It is LIKE stealing . . .

It is. I can hardly believe it. I have been meaning to post this all week. I have. I feel bad I didn't. Because it was a ROCKIN' deal. If you read Jill's blog, or Katy's blog you would have seen it anyway. So, I don't feel THAT bad.

I am NOT a couponer...I try to shop the deals. . . at Christmas time, I took advantage of the major deals at the grocery stores.. Buying groceries for $100 and when I looked at the "YOU SAVED" line it said $100! WOW! Even today at Walmart I asked them to match a price and they did it! But I am thinking I should be a little more consistent because there is some serious money to be saved! These two girls know how to rock a DEAL! After tonight, I think I am officially hooked.

I printed off my Huggies coupons and headed ACROSS the street to Walgreens (yes, Walgreens is LITERALLY across the street) and got my CHEAPO diapers.

Huggies on Sale $10
Coupon $5
Pay $5
Wipes on sale $6
Coupon $3

Buy $25 worth before coupons (pay only $13 plus tax) and get $10 in register rewards) Turn around use your register rewards and get ANOTHER pack of Diapers FREE.

SO: get 3 packs of diapers and 1 pack of wipes for $13. It was awesome! And soooooooo easy. I tried to get some more coupons, but no luck. The library wouldn't let me download the print software, Peter couldn't print them at work, but I was able to print from each of our computers so I had 4 of each coupon.

I went back tonight and got

1 Pack of Wipes $6
Coupon $3
1 Pack of Wipes $6
Coupon $3
1 Pack of Wipes $6
Coupon $3
Diapers $10
Coupon $5

$14 and I turned around and got ANOTHER $10 and walked right back and got another pack of diapers... FREE. Did you get that??? Walgreens GAVE ME $20. It was awesome. I even got a little bit of a rush. Jill checks out this blog and this blog and they will do all the work for you if you are a novice like me. Trust me.. it takes almost as much time just to read these blogs as it would to cut out all the coupons. But hey, these are tough times.. and we can all afford to save some money (can I get an AMEN?)

Check out their sites and give it a try... I swear, it was a rush.

Everyone Loves a Package

Especially one that you forgot about... one that you weren't expecting. When the MIL was here helping with THIS, I ALMOST talked her into making me a cover for my infant car seat. I know, that would have been CRAZY! I am trying to stick to the "fix it up, or do without" mantra from President Hinckley with our new baby since times are tight. My infant car seat is as old as Abby, (don't tell me they have an expiration date!) so, it needed a wee bit of sprucing up. Unfortunately, I have already given all of Abby's baby clothes away to others with new baby girls (come ON! She is 7!!!) So, if you want to help out with dressing my baby, or keeping her warm or WHATEVER, I have added a baby registry to my sidebar. [Bless you]. Anywho...

I had seen on-line that you CAN actually make a cover, but my WISE MIL decided that she would rather PAY SOMEONE ELSE to make that cover than try to help me make one herself. (Smart lady) I was happy to receive the gift and it was a lot cheaper than buying a new seat, so we picked out the fabric and away it went.

I forgot all about it until yesterday when it showed up at my door! Hmmm? Package? What is this??? It was all bundled up in a cute little tied up roll .........along with a SUPER cute special gift! (Thanks sooooo much Kate!) Anyway, I guess now that Christmas is cleaned up, I can carry forward with the rest of the baby prep. I will keep you posted on how it goes. At least now I have a super cute (not so old and hammered looking car seat! I am SURE she will be snuggly and warm in this little seat courtesy of Kate's mad skils.

As I was putting the straps back in, I became a little overwhelmed [Scared to death] that there will be a wee one in this basket soon. It all seems like such a great idea until it is almost ready to come out!!! Either way, she is COMING and her basket is READY. I wish I was feeling more ready...

I AM ASTONISHED

I am pregnant with a baby girl. We guessed as much early on because all I was craving was salt, salt, salt. Which, by the way, is NOT totally abnormal. I think Peter's cousin once advised him to buy me a salt lick when she witnessed me pouring salt into the palm of my hand and licking it off...repeatedly. Anywho.....

Even though I have been craving salt... every now and again I crave something sweet. For the most part I take care of those cravings myself because I LOVE all things in DOUGH form. I think I have mastered making cookie dough in record time. (Around 5 minutes). However, from time to time I like to rely on "baked goods" not made by myself to satisfy my cravings because sometimes it is nice to just sit on your heiny and not have to move off the couch to curb a craving...

In enters obliging husband. My husband came out of his hovel.. I mean office... tonight at about 9:58 p .m.at which time I uttered something about wanting my favorite GO TO baked good... SVENHARDS. Ever heard of em? Here....

Not just ANY Svenhards will do.. .They MUST BE BUTTER HORNS! I am not a huge fan of any kind of FRUITY filling. Just give it to me plain... with butter on it. In my personal (but incredibly knowledgeable) opinion this is by FAR one of the best baked goods that you can buy and eat and love. Oh, throw a little butter on it, (My husband once said it is like putting butter on a Krispy Kreme) throw it in the microwave for 25 seconds and you have ONE AMAZING BAKED GOOD ITEM WARM OUT OF THE OVEN. I mean, Microwave. Thanks to my mom for starting the warmed butter horn with BUTTER tradition. I will most certainly carry it forward.

Back to the Husband. Being the GREAT husband that he is... he offered to go get me some. No, he didn't offer... he just grabbed his keys off the counter and left. At 10:42... I began to wonder where he might be? I mean, the store isn't THAT far away. I called him on his cell to find that he had visited 7 stores... 7 STORES! To find my beloved Svenhards to no avail. He gave his all... he did his best... I told him to come home. (He still brought me a baked good so I didn't have to go without) NOW THAT IS LOVE I TELL YOU. Thank you honey, you are the best. I guess I better start stocking them as food storage because there seems to be a shortage around these parts.

I don't even feel a bit bad about it because:

A. He wanted to and

B. This is the last chance I have to get ANY pregnancy related TLC that I can get!

So, I am going to soak it ALL IN (and pack it all on)!

I AM All about Free Stuff

This week, each post has started I AM... I will let you know what else I am TOMORROW! But TODAY, I AM all about FREE STUFF! How bout some FREE christmas cards and a great deal on pictures! Check here for more details!

Drum Roll Please

TIP JUNKIE FANS! I RECENTLY HAD MY PARENTS OVER TO HELP ME UN-PACK and DECORATE. SO I ALREADY HAD THIS POST PUT TOGETHER! SCROLL THROUGH THE PIX. I HAVE EACH OF MY FAVORITES LISTED AFTER EACH PIC!

It is finished.. Ok, maybe not FINISHED.. but for the most part.. the Decorator Prison part... It is finished because my parents are on a plane back to SLC right now thankful that they were able to leave this place! They worked long and hard... and I think we made 8 trips to Target (you think I am joking?) But, it is finished, fabulous, and it makes me feel like I am home. So, I am ready to post the pix. Really, you won't see TOO many new things, but there ARE a few TREASURES that I have purchased.. I will point them out. But, if you have seen my home before, especially if you have BEEN IN my home before, nothing will come as a shock to you. I just find it delightful, really, that all my things even if just moved around a TINSY bit can still look great. I love it.

Mom and Dad, I owe you... BIG TIME. Thank you for all of your hard work.. trips to Target and company this week. Next time you come out, I PROMISE, we will have a LOT more fun! Now, drum roll please.

This is my favorite view... This is me, sitting in my chair... my blogging chair... It is my favorite view because I can see so many things I love. I love my Christus.. purchased in Israel almost 17 years ago. (Yuck, I can't believe I just said that) I have my favorite picture up on the wall. (I bought it at Tai Pan) My mother in law made me the Topiary for our first home, and I have had that rooster clock FOREVER.. I don't know, these things just feel like home to me, they just make me happy......
This is my view to the right of the blogging chair... Those pictures on my wall? Aren't they CUTE? I have had them forever too! They were purchased at Kmart, and they were $15 bucks a piece. Awesome. Since I have had them for 6 years, that is $2.50 per year in amortized value. I think they were worth it. I still love them. See my Tai Pan bucket? In the cubbie? I love that too. My mom bought it for me for Christmas, because she knew how I coveted it. It took me a while to get it to my home. I had to wait until I could drive it. Some of you will notice a NEW PURCHASE! See that beauty? That basket, or whatever it is, that has a white geranium plant in it? Well, I LOVE IT, and I bought it without a seconds of hesitation because I knew it was a must have piece. I found it at Pier One. It was $29, but on clearance for $19. You wouldn't have hesitated either. (The books next to it are my My Publisher Books) The other thingy on the wall that arched thingy was also purchased at Pier one 8 years ago... It was $20 as well. So, that amortized over 8 years is also $2.50.. well worth the purchase. You know, at the time in our newlywed life, that was allota dough.. I am happy to see it put to good use.

Here is the view from my blogging chair straight ahead... That is the front hallway, you can see the cones that Heidi mentioned in my comments.. she is an observant one.. What? You noticed they aren't brown anymore? Yeah, that is what a can of spray paint will do for you. Oh, you actually want to SEE the blogging chair? Well, as Amy pointed out, it is a chair we have had forever, that has been recovered.

Here is my dad performing amazing acts of heroism... and his trusty side kick K-lo. See those stylish glasses he is sporting? Is he an electrician? No, but being a Chemist/Physics/Engineer type person makes him think he can do anything... And, he can. He is great with a level too. :) Thanks Dad. (Don't worry, I took the shackles off of BOTH of them before they left.. I didn't want them to get strange looks at the airport. The final result?

I only have one set of drapes up... but, here is the other wall.

Remember that FABULOUS, INCREDIBLE, wall plaque that I found at Pier One? Well, here is is in all of its glory. I love it. It is perfect in our front hallway. It was also on clearance. The retail heavens were shining upon me.

And finally, my bedroom. When I walk in, I feel.. peace.... As you may have heard before, my bedroom is NEVER clean, unless I am hostessing an EVENT. So, here is your one and only look..

Dreamy eh? Check out the garden of Eden outside my window... That is probably the best part of my room. My one new addition is the tall grass sitting in my window.. Target.. now.. if you want one, go get one.

It is a great addition. I hope you enjoyed the tour of our home. I am so thrilled to have it all put together. I couldn't have done it without my parents.. Now, COME and see it for YOURSELF! Guests are always welcome!

PS- My mom and I are available for DECORATING ON A DIME consultations... First come, first served!
