I AM LAME

I just can't quite seem to get back to my old bloggin' ways. Maybe that is because my lap top is DOWN. I can no longer lounge in my bed and watch tivo and blog at the same time. . . . It makes for a pretty quiet blog. Sorry about that.

It could also be that:

I am getting the kids ready to start school on Monday

I am still unpacking boxes

I am planning a baptism

I am trying to get back on a "routine"

I am trying to work out (that isn't happening much)

I am trying to plan/think about 3 birthdays coming up

I am still going through 3 weeks of mail (ALMOST DONE!)

Anywho. . .

For those of you that don't know, my sister and I maintain a food blog. My OTHER sisters are supposed to contribute too (HELLO!) but really, it is just me and my little sis. We love to cook, we love to look at food blogs. . . we love food. But, she says we are LAME because we don't take pictures of our food. I have COMMITTED to adding pictures to our food blog, and so, while I was in SLC, she made me the Leige Sugared Waffle Recipe. You might ask, what the heck is a Leige Sugared Waffle . . and to that I would say, "A PIECE OF HEAVEN!" Here are some pix to prove it.

Just about ready to be shoved in my mouth. . .

It is sooooooooo good I might not waste it on the kids. . .

BON APETITE . . HERE I COME!
If you have a small soiree of people coming for breakfast, I would highly recommend pulling this recipe out. It is like a cross between a waffle and a bread? (It is kinda bread-like dough) and you put these special sugar crystals in it (found at your nearest European market) and boy. . . does it make for one FABULOUS CULINARY EXPERIENCE.

Thanks again Hillary for making them for me. . . L.O.V.E.D. them. Believe me, these pictures, as good as they look, don't do them justice!

Wow. I wish I loved to cook like you!!!

My sister-in-law in Utah is FAME-US for her delish-us-ness. She made "buttermilk syrup" for us with some whole wheat pancakes and I SO TOTALLY DIED!!!!!!!! It is surreal. Find the buttermilk syrup recipe online and it is amazingly crazy good. Nothing like it. (I have the recipe too if you want it, but it's online.) Serve it and you will be famous too.

Mmmmmnn. My Costco hotdog dinner is really feeling inferior now! Btw - I second the buttermilk syrup vote.

Leah, you have to try the butermilk syrup on Swedish pancakes. They're flatter and more dense and make the buttermilk syrup even MORE delish...if that's possible. My kids could eat them every day if I'd let them. And, shhhh....don't tell, but I've been known to sip the buttermilk syrup all on it's own!

Lindsey - those waffels look like HEAVEN on your fingertips! Amazing! Mmmmmm....have to try those sometime. I just started exercising and trying to avoid the sweets two days ago, so they may have to wait a bit. :(

Cher - I bet you make GREAT hotdogs ;-)

I'm with Leah. I love homemade buttermilk syrup. My mother-in-law makes the best ever. Great food photos. I'm totally hungry now but too lazy to get up and get food. I am in a blogging slump too. It's been over a month for me! Good luck with your birthday planning/unpacking/and back to school preparing!
