This is the last post of my "I AM" week and I know it is DANGEROUS to ask the blog world such questions, but I AM STUMPED. We decided early on that our little girl (I mean, before we knew we were having a girl) would be named after her Grandmothers. Grandma Kay and Grandma Jean.
We decided right off the bat that her name would be Kayley Jean. Cute, but, I feel like Kayley is a little over used these days. (Not that Abby and Jaxon aren't completely POPULAR, but we really didn't know that until after they were already named. ) Anyway, we are almost certain that will be her name, but I am still looking out for that girl name.. that has "Kay" in it that is unique and beautiful and all that.
Now, chances that I can get my husband off of Kayley are slim to none. But, maybe the blog world will come up with "THE ONE" that we can't pass up. So, are you up to the challenge? (Believe me, it is a big one) But, I am ready... but remember the rules, it must have "KAY" in it!
Good luck!

We have the CUTEST little girl in our ward named McKay, it's usually for a boy, but she is adorable, everyone LOVES her and calls her Kaylie Bug. You can always go with Mikayla or Kaylin.
I like the combo of your name and your Grandma's...Kaylin. It is beautiful and the best of you and Grandma. I've never heard of a Kaylin before.
There's also Kayla, Kayah, Kaya. Or I really like MaryKay, Kaymart, and O'Kay. (J'Kay as in just kidding!)
Kaylyn Jean
:)
Kaydence, Kaydee, Kaycee. But Kaylin is still my fave.
I have a boy named McKay, and would equally love it on a girl. Kaylin would probably get my vote though.
I like Makayla, Kaylee or Kaycee. All of the suggestions are cute though!!!! Good luck :)
What about Kaydence?
I have a friend named Kaylea.
Hi Lindz,
I used to have a gal babysit for us named Kaylin and we love her. Also, I'd love to see you when you come to town--I just can't really come to you, but would love you to come to me if you have time. That would boost my spirits!
Jules
First of all, I LOVE the name Kayley, Kaylee, Kayleigh, Kaylie, whatever the spelling.
Others: Kayla, Makayla, Kaytee, Kaylani, Kaycee, Kaylynn, Kaylin
Love those K names!
I'll go with Kaylin. I love Leah's idea of Kaymart though. Good one.
Kaymart!!!TOTALLY
okay, I'm back. The Chows and I have discussed this at length and we offer up the following in all seriousness, with love and respect. Name her Jean Kay XXXiX. (heh)
But call her JKay. We think that's super cool!
Also::: you have a killer maiden name; maybe figure a way to use it?? Jean Kay Xtxxxxx Xxxix. yuum!
TO THOSE HELPERS...
I LOVE Kaylin.. My vote for sure. Can't convince the husband. He thinks it is too much like a cousins name...
McKay, Wanted it for a boy. Couldn't get Peter to take. In my next married life where I have more children I will have a boy named McKay.
To those who voted for Kaymart, including my little sister, YOU ARE NOT HELPING MY CAUSE! Then my husband just thinks you are ALL crazy and why would we take advice from crazy people off the internet! :)
I like Kayley best. Whatever you choose you will be SOOOO glad you are using family names. I've done that with all my kids and I LOVE it!
I don't think Kaylin is close enough to the cousin's name to warrant reconsideration. His point is a non point. And even if it was the very same name as a cousin, I SO totally think that it is great to have cousins with the same name. They would love that honor.
We named our son the same name as my husband's brother and he thinks it is the coolest thing in the world.
I told my sister-in-law that I like the name of one of her children so much that I would use it if I had a boy. (We're done though). We only see each other once a year anyway and she wanted me to use it.
We have an Ava and an Avery that are cousins, a Leah, Liza, Eliza, and Elizabeth. It's no big deal.
I say go for it!
What about Kayte? A new take on a classic. I love it.
I hope you don't mind me linking to you from cjane, I also hope this is the first time I am contacting you, it is hard to keep track! I am trying to let people know about threads of love, a nie project I am starting, check it out at www.quilt4nie.blogspot.com or on her benefit blog. Thanks! Love, Candice
KayLin...Capitalize the L to acknowlege your name. I think after you push her out you should have Peter wrapped around your finger and he will give in. For crying out loud the man went to the ends of the earth for those butter horn things!
