Jaxonisms

As of late, Jaxon has decided that he is fluent in Spanish and he knows all things about Mexico. (It is inconclusive whether he is acquiring this knowledge from Maya and Miguel[adored PBS after school series] or just by living in Arizona) Anywho.. he has instructed us SEVERAL times (too many to document) on the definition and usage of Spanish words and now he has taken to instructing his teacher as well...

As per her note home:

(They read the Three Little Pigs Story and Jaxon was being asked retention questions about the story)

Where did this story take place?

Jaxon: In Mexico..... WITH NO HOUSES!!!!

At the bottom of this paper he marked that he DID NOT like this story and when we asked him about it at dinner... he said...IT'S HORRIBLE!!! THEY KNOCK DOWN THE HOUSES AND EVERYTHING!!!

That is HILARIOUS! Maybe he needs ESL classes. That is where they have actually placed 2 ASD kids that I know. Can you imagine?!

My daughter pretended to speak Spanish when we lived in San Diego. She would converse with the waiters when we couldn't understand them. To this day, I have no idea what she and they said to each other.

I am coming to your house for Cinco de Mayo. I expect a huge fiesta courtesy of Jaxon!

I hope he isn't disappointed when he gets to Mexico one day and sees that the people do live in houses.

I never liked that story either.

That is so funny. Good for you for documenting such a darling conversation. What a sweet boy you have.

One of my twins thinks he is completely fluent in Spanish too. Dora and Diego are his best friends.

I pretended that I was fluent in Spanish all weekend. Not one Mexican bought it...
I could just squish Jaxon. He is too cute.

He may be interested to know that, just as in the three little pigs, there are a lot of houses made of sticks in the Mexican jungle. They withstand rains and winds and probably wolves. I know. I saw them.
