Never Fear.. ABBY IS HERE!

If you would have asked me a few weeks ago how Abby was doing. I would have told you that she was absolutely driving me bonkers.. and that she is a typical middle child... And you would say, "Middle Child? Isn't she your FIRST?" And I would say, "Funny, you should say that. Yes, she is, so, why doesn't she ACT like a First born? All responsible and such?" And you would look at me quizzically without an answer because you don't have one.
I know.
It was bugging me too. She was acting out, complaining, seeking for attention, and saying that she gets "NOTHING" because she has a brother who is Autistic and a Baby Brother and they get "EVERYTHING!" Great news when we have an infant about to enter our family, no?

The weeks leading up to Christmas Abby was being the most needy and disruptive child on the PLANET... but this morning when I came out of my room at 7:27 a.m. (a totally reasonable hour), I looked at Wade's door, and it was OPEN, with the LIGHTS ON... which would generally mean that SOMEONE ELSE has gotten him out of bed because he has not yet figured out how to crawl OUT of bed.
I walked into the kitchen and saw this:

Jaxon dressed for school and sitting with a bowl of cereal at the kitchen table. Wade in his high chair, with a bowl of cereal and Abby saying she had already changed his diaper... Then I saw Abby, happy as a lark, saying, "Don't worry mom! I am taking care of EVERYTHING!" and getting ready to make herself scrambled eggs on the stove. Luckily, she hadn't gone as far to try to turn on the GAS RANGE yet as she doesn't know how and would have likely blown us all up. REGARDLESS. Thus started my FREAKY FRIDAY, with Dr. Jekyll, I mean, Abby.

I have to hand it to her, she started my day out in a pretty great way!

THANKS ABBY! You're a great girl!

PS- Jaxon had consumed his "snack" as instructed. ;)

Love it! She is adorble. I don't know how many times I think I have my kids totally figured out and then they floor me. I hope she keeps it up. You will need the help really soon. My favorite times in life have been to witness the tenderness a baby brings into a home. Remarkable and blessed!!

YEAH ABBY! That is so sweet! She must have figured that she would get more by doing more. So glad Jaxon ate his snack.

wow! how do i get my "middle child" to do something like that? isn't it nice that just when we don't know why we had kids, they show us how lucky and blessed we are to have them? hope you are doing great. haven't talked to you in awhile.
