Dearest Visitor

I love that you visit my blog. I am not sure why.. probably some kind of weird validation in my own mind. I know that you visit too because I have a counter... it tells me where you are coming from. I know where you live... I know how long you visit my page and I know how often you come back... Do you feel violated?

I even know EXACTLY who some of you are because you post a comment and I can tell who you are by when you posted it! (I am so smart) I would just like to give an official THANK YOU... for visiting my blog. I love that you visit me... you can count it as VISITING TEACHING! (kind of) But really, you probably know how I am BETTER than my own VISITING TEACHERS!

I have been distracted as of late... other things to think about... things that are altering my life. Last Sunday, I wrote a depressing post and then deleted it... Some of you read it because you have blog readers...Sorry I deleted it. I regret that now... but, I needed to at the time. I know some of you don't have a reader because you check my page a couple of times a day (thanks Anne-- You make me feel good) ANYWHO... let me tell you what a reader will do for you.

GIVE YOU MORE FREE TIME TO SURF THE INTERNET!!!! (Oh, and maybe attend to your other responsibilities) That is right! You will never have to check my page again because it will TELL YOU when my page is updated! Google has one, bloglines has one.. It is free... but if you don't want to use it, that is ok because your hits make me feel good. when I am checking my stats page, my husband calls it the "who loves me" page. Oh well... I guess I just like to know that I am loved... just like everyone else in the world.

Oh, and to you lurkers... people who visit often but who don't comment... Or when they DO COMMENT comment anonymously.. (YES I AM TALKING TO YOU ANONYMOUS NICOLE DEFENDER!) All I know about you is that you live near me and you check my blog regularly. That is ok.. but, it would be nice if I knew who you are. I will let you read Celia Fae's Blog note to lurkers.. because she said it so well. :)

Much love again to you... thanks for checking in with me... even though I have been checking OUT. I will be posting again soon. :)

Yes, the readers are the only way to go. Hello? How do people have time to check every single blog they like every single day? Yikes.

Yes, I loved that post of Celia's too.

I like my lurkers. It's like having a whole bunch of imaginary friends!

So hilarious! I love stat counter and google reader. I check stat counter at least once a day. It is totally the "I love you" page. Sometimes I just need a hug...

Bachelor finale sounds fun! Your place or mine!

This was great. I like to look at my stats and validate my self-esteem. I pretend that I have lots of friends. Doesn't matter that they're in my computer. They like me.

I purposely pick titles that will get a lot of hits from google searches.

Okay, I'm not really that desperate but it is amazing how many people find my blog because I used "Semi-Divine Design" as a title once.

Poor people expect to find some beautiful room Candace Olsen created and then they find my decorating attempts with a TJ Maxx/Ross budget. Those visitors never stay long.

wow. really? I do not ever check my stat counter. I have no idea who reads my blog. Some people are quite adept. They find my despite my best efforts. None of it matters to me. I write for 3 people only. And I know they read it because they tell me. Also, people have told me they like to come and read my archives. So they are at my blog quite often. That scares me. There's a lot of stuff there. Maybe the recipes will distract them. More recipes. My read is this, Long Legs: you take great pictures and people come back here because they enjoy it. They enjoy being around what you enjoy. It's highly pleasant here and the people here are darling. If this were a shop, it would be the kind that people check in with quite frequently, just to see what's going on and to get a second look at what was going on last week. You should be highly, highly complimented.

Also, coming up: I am going to feature your anniversary tribute to you husband. It's a rare one, LL. Or at least in the circles I run in. It touched me deeply and I know it will others, too. So let me know if you think it's okay to link your anniversary tribute. hokay?

Checking the blogs of my friends (both new and old), feels kind of like checking the mail used to feel, back in the days of letters. I get so excited to see new posts and catch up on everyones' lives.

P.S. You have a much better stat counter than I do. All I can tell is what state, and sometimes what city visitors are from.

Tam- are you calling me OLD? How dare you.

Who me? Of course not! That would be calling myself old too. But doesn't college seem like a million years ago?

I came here indirectly via JBelles Blob...... I LOVE JBelle...so I knew it was gonna be good here....

I rarely check me stats, when I remember its usually just once a week, it does surprise me how many lurkers I have, but I dont blob for any other reason then to write a few bits and bobs of memories down for when me lads are older and they might like to know the side of me they dont always see :)......

I started blobbing mainly cos of JBelles nagging lol and a year on and Im still enjoying it, I only post once or twice a week though, but I have so many stories stacked on the shelves of me mind that one day will all tumble out :0

anyways, just rambling on here like some retarded loon.....

time to scroll back and have a right proper read....

I promise it wasn't me agreeing with myself under the guise of "anonymous" (i went back to read the hoopla). I do not go incognito.

I need to school you in google analytics. You will probably like it.

Nicole defender did make me feel bad-I guess I wasn't very nice but she should be brave enough to reveal herself. I appreciate honest & upfront(in all ways) people. Lindsay, you are loved!

The statcounter and google thing really freak me out. I just had to pop over and read your cupcake post from the comment you left on Celia's blog.

Lurker checking in to say - HI

and thanks for telling me about the blog stats stuff... who knew!

I totally need to figure out that google reader thing. And I tried the stat counter and I couldn't figure it out- how sad am I?

As I am the loser who visits multiple times daily, let me just say...nursing baby. Every time I sit down to nurse I sit at the computer and browse. It is a HUGE time waster!! But with 5 kids at home and homeschooling, it makes me feel a little more connected to the world of big people...no pun intended Long Legs!
Now, I had no idea there was such a thing as lurkers, but I am one of them!!! What is etiquette here...do I introduce myself? I had no idea I was being tracked!!! Yikes!
BTW, since I check multiple times daily, I saw the post of you feeling...overwhelmed...I hear you sister! Love you!
